When preparing garlic, I highly recommend using fresh garlic, not the processed stuff in a jar.
Lay the garlic bulb on the cutting board and crush it with a clever, like this. Break the bulb into cloves discard the extra garlic skin. This is a bulb of garlic and this is a clove… Peel the garlic clove and cut off the little stem end.
To mince garlic:
Crush it with a knife, slice the garlic in one direction. Then turn your knife 90 degrees and slice again like this. Continue to chop until the garlic is minced… This is minced garlic!
You may also use one of these fancy gadgets if you prefer. The key is to use FRESH garlic!
